Fees & Discounts
What is included in the course fee?
The fees for all our programs, except the Paralegal Certificate, include the cost of any books and/or materials, including shipping if applicable.
The Paralegal Certificate material costs, licenses, and/or shipping is managed by the program facilitator once registration is complete.
How do I pay for classes? What payment methods are accepted?
Registration payment can be made via credit card during the shopping cart checkout process. At this time, we do not offer payment plans for our general open enrollment courses. If you are unable to pay by credit card, please contact Lifelong Learning Advising for assistance. Your email must include your full name, the course name and section number, and why you are requesting an alternate payment method so we can properly assist you.
What if another party, such as my employer, is paying for my course?
Courses can be paid for through the Student Portal using a credit card. If your employer, or another party, is going to pay for your course, a business credit card can be used to pay for the course through the student portal shopping cart checkout process.
If the other party is unable to pay by credit card, please contact Lifelong Learning Advising for assistance.
Do you offer discounts?
Yes, we use coupon codes for promotional discounts and group association discounts for members of certain groups. Discounts must be applied at checkout. Partial refunds will not be issued to make up for a discount not applied at checkout.

- Coupon codes are provided to you when applicable.
- Coupon codes from our previous registration system will not work in this new registration system. Contact Lifelong Learning Advising to get a replacement coupon code, if needed.

Group Membership Discounts
Members of the following groups are eligible for discounts on designated course sections. Group discounts will be listed in the section details on each course page. You must associate your student profile with a group before you are able to apply the group discount. What is your refund policy?
Our refund policy is as follows:
- Requests to drop a class and receive a refund must be submitted in writing via the Contact Us prior to the class start date & time. Fees may be associated with drops.
- No refunds will be issued after the class start date.
- Allow 5 – 7 business days for credit card refunds and 6 – 8 weeks for check refunds.

Learning Experience
How do I register for a course?
Before you can register for a course, you must create an account in the Student Portal. You must set your new account password before you can register for a course or take other actions with your profile on the site.
Once you have successfully created your new account password, you will be able to add a course or certificate to your shopping cart and proceed to checkout.
Who do I contact if I have questions before I register?
Use the Contact Us form, or you can contact Lifelong Learning Advising for assistance regarding a course you would like to learn more about or in which you’d like to register.
Who do I contact if I have questions after I have registered?
Use the Contact Us form, or you can contact Lifelong Learning Advising for assistance after you have registered for a course.
Are your courses online or in person?
Most of our courses are offered in a live online or online self-paced format. Occasionally, there may be an in-person program held on one of our campuses or at an off-campus location.
What is your attendance policy?
You must attend 75% of all class meetings to successfully complete a course and earn a digital credential.
For classes lasting only one day, full-day attendance is required to successfully complete the course and earn a digital credential.
If you must miss a class session, coordinate with your instructor regarding any missed class time. Attendance is critical to your ability to successfully complete a course and earn a digital credential.
No course re-sits are allowed. Participants who have not met the attendance requirement and are seeking a letter of completion for a course may re-register at full cost of attendance for a future offering.
What types of assignments are given?
The types of assignments in a class are dependent upon the subject matter and course structure. Typically, assignments that occur outside of a class session may include reading, discussion board posts, quizzes, and project work, while assignments during class sessions may include breakout groups and project work.

Some courses and certificates may have additional completion requirements. Check the course overview and with your instructor to confirm all requirements for successful completion.

How do I earn and receive my digital credential after completing a course?
Digital credentials are issued after you successfully complete a course or certificate. See How do I successfully complete a course? for specifics on course completion.
When you complete a course or certificate that issues a digital credential, you will receive an email notifying you when your digital credential has been issued.
You can find the digital credentials you have earned in two places.
- A list of digital credentials awarded after the launch of our new registration platform in August 2025 can be found under the Credential section of your Student Portal.
- All digital badges earned from USF CTPE are available to you via the Credly platform. The email you used to register with USF CTPE will be associated with your badges in Credly.
Do you assist with job placement after successful completion of one of your courses or certificates?
USF CTPE does not offer job placement services but will pass along any available information to those who take our courses. Our instructors are also great mentors with contacts in the fields and roles for which they teach.
Human Resources Management Certificate
How many courses are there in the certificate?
The Human Resources Management Certificate is comprised of six courses that must be completed to earn the certificate.
Can I take the Human Resources Management Certificate courses in any order?
The Human Resources Management Certificate starts with the HR Core Concepts course, and it is suggested you follow the scheduled course order with the cohort from your HR Core Concepts class. However, it is not required to complete all the courses together with the cohort. We understand that personal commitments can sometimes conflict with the cohort schedule.
Do I have to pay for all six courses of the Human Resources Management Certificate up front?
No, you pay for each course upon registration. You can, however, register for multiple courses in a single shopping cart at once, if you’d like.
When can I start the Human Resources Management Certificate?
There are three Human Resources Management Certificate cohorts each year beginning with the HR Core Concepts course.
What happens when I finish the certificate?
Upon successful completion of the Human Resources Management Certificate, you will be awarded a digital credential.
What is the difference between the HR Management Certificate and the SHRM Certification Prep+ course?
The Human Resources Management Certificate is targeted for those new to Human Resources, and the SHRM Certification Prep+ course is for professionals with 3+ years of HR experience who are seeking a professional certification.

Are there pre-requisites for the SHRM Certification Prep+ course?
There are no requirements to take the SHRM Certification Prep+ course. However, it is suggested that you confirm you qualify to take the exam before you register for the course.
How do I know if I qualify to sit for the SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP exam?
The SHRM website posts the SHRM-CP and SHRM-SCP exam eligibility you can use to verify your readiness.
What is the difference between the HR Management Certificate and the SHRM Certification Prep+ course?

No, the skills obtained in the Project Management Certificate are applicable across industries and business units.
What is the difference between the Project Management Certificate and the PMP® Exam Preparation course?

PMP® Exam Preparation Course

How do I know if I qualify to sit for the PMP® exam?

Will the PMP® Exam Preparation course provide the 35 education hours needed to sit for the exam?
Yes, the PMP® Exam Preparation class meets PMI’s 35 hours of project management education/training requirement.
Does the cost of the PMP® Exam Preparation course include the exam fee?
No, the exam fee is not included in the course cost. It must be paid to the exam provider.
What if I do not pass the PMP® exam?
If you do not pass the PMP® Exam, you may be eligible to retake the class if you had 100% class attendance, received a minimum of 80% on the final practice exam, and can provide proof that you have signed up to retake the exam.
Paralegal Certificate
Is there an application required to join this program?
There is no application required to register for the Paralegal Certificate. The Paralegal Certificate is offered three times each year, and you can register for any of the offerings at any time before the start date.
What is the cost of the Paralegal Certificate program?
The fees due to USF CTPE for the Paralegal Certificate are $4,995, and the cost for books and materials due to the program facilitator is ~$800.
Are there any financial aid options?
There are personal loans with USF Credit Union, employer reimbursement, CareerSource support, and installment payment plans available. Contact the program advisor, Lisa Orr, for more information.
How long does the Paralegal Certificate program take to complete, and what is the format?
The Paralegal Certificate is a six-month online program with flexible deadlines guided by a judge serving as the instructor.
It is possible to complete the Paralegal Certificate in less than six months as long as you complete the work and maintain comprehension.
What is the expected weekly commitment for the Paralegal Certificate program?
You can expect to commit 12 – 15 hours per week to the course. It will be a busy six months!
Are there any in-person meetings for the Paralegal Certificate program?
No, the program is conducted entirely online, but there are Zoom Office Hours available.
Will the Paralegal Certificate program prepare me for the NALA or PACE certification exam?
This is not a test-preparation course. Rather, it is designed to equip you with the practical skills and knowledge needed to perform effectively in the role. While the primary focus is on job readiness, successful completion of the program may help fulfill eligibility requirements for various certification exams – such as NALA’s post-baccalaureate pathway. Please note that additional criteria may be required to sit for these exams, depending on the certifying organization.
Will I be a certified paralegal after completing the program?
Completing this program will earn you a university issued credential from USF, not a professional certification or license. In Florida, licensure is not required to work as a paralegal, so you can begin your career without formal accreditation.
Can I use my Paralegal Certificate in another state?
Yes. You will learn the core, transferable skills needed to work anywhere in the law. The skills you gain in this program are applicable in any state. Your Paralegal Certificate from USF is a university-issued credential that can strengthen your resume and demonstrate your preparation for the field – skills and qualifications that employers across the country recognize and value.
Infosec GRC Analyst training
How can I recommend an employee for this program?
No formal recommendation is needed. Simply share the Infosec GRC Analyst Training course registration page to anyone interested in registering.
Do I need a specific degree or certification to enroll?
No, there are no degree or certification requirements. Basic computer knowledge can be helpful, but the program begins with the fundamentals. Learners with some college experience, technical background, or exposure to security may find the material easier, but it’s not required.
Do I have to be a USF student to apply?
Not at all. This is a professional training program offered through USF Corporate Training and Professional Education. You do not need to enroll as a degree-seeking student.
Will there be homework or reading outside of class? Do I need to buy textbooks?
Yes, there are activities and a final project to complete outside of the modules, but all course materials are digital and included at no extra cost. No textbooks to purchase!
How do I access the course modules?
You’ll access everything through USF’s online learning system, Canvas. Once enrolled, you can find the link to the online learning portal on the Student Home section of your student profile. Please make sure you can log into your online learning portal before your class starts.
If lessons are prerecorded, how do I connect with instructors?
Instructors provide feedback on assignments and the final project. You’ll also be able to meet with them during scheduled office hours and connect through Canvas Inbox messaging.
Will there be quizzes or tests?
Yes, each module includes short knowledge checks. You’ll have multiple chances to complete them successfully.
Is content captioned?
Yes. All videos include captions.
Is there a final exam?
No final exam is required. Instead, you’ll complete a final audit project and course survey. Your report and presentation will be reviewed by instructors to determine if you’ve earned the digital badge.
How will I receive my badge?
Within 48 hours of completing the program and survey, you’ll receive an email from Credly with instructions to claim your digital badge. Please note: Credly requires a separate login.
How can my employer verify my badge?
Your employer can click your badge to confirm your achievement and view the skills covered.
Can I share my badge on LinkedIn, social media, or my resume?
Yes! Once claimed, your badge can be displayed on social media, resumes, and even in your email signature.
