How to Register for a Class with the USF HR Employee Success Initiative Discount

To take advantage of the USF Employee discount, students must associate their student profile with the USF Employee group. For instructions on how to associate your profile with a group, see Group Membership Discount Details. Once a student has associated their student profile with the USF Employee group, they can access available discounts for the group when registering.

 
To register for a class using the USF HR Employee discount, follow these steps for the checkout process in your shopping cart.
  • Click on the checkbox next to Apply a discount and select the USF Employee discount from the list.
  • After selecting the discount, the screen will show the system is processing, then the discount amount will appear and the subtotal and total amounts will be updated.
    • Note: There is a maximum number of 5 students using USF Employee group discounts allowed per section. Once that number is reached, the student will receive an error when they try to apply the discount.
  • Click on the Checkout button to move forward in the checkout process.
 
For self-paying Employees:
  • Select Credit Card as the payment method.
  • In the How did you learn about this course? question, select – USF Employee, self-paying from the question drop-down field.

For Department paid Employees:

For a USF Employee student whose registration is being paid for by their department, we require the student to provide some information at checkout that will be used to facilitate a journal entry transfer to obtain the course fees from the student’s department.

🛑Note: If the student does not properly provide the required information following the steps below, their registration will be dropped, and the student will have to re-register.

  • Select Bill to my employer or group as the payment method and ensure USF Employee is showing in the drop-down box that appears below the payment method.
  • In the How did you learn about this course? question, select – USF Employee, department paying from the question drop-down field.
  • Five additional prompts will appear on the screen that must be completed. Enter the required information to enable CTPE to bill the USF Employee student’s department.

Prompt Description
Authorized Approving Supervisor First & Last Name The first & last name of the authorized supervisor who has approved that department funds can be used to cover the cost of the course.
Department Name of the department in which the employee is a member of and that is covering the cost of the course.
Chartfield A chartfield is a long set of characters made up of 6 components (Oper Unit, Fund, Account, Dept, Product, Initiative). The funding department’s fiscal officer can provide the chartfield to the USF Employee student for registration.
GL account for interdepartmental transfer will be 75000
Note: This is the default value for this field and cannot be changed.
By providing the chartfield information above, I certify that I have department payment approval and budget has been opened in the chartfield to pay for this course. I confirm I have approval and budget is open for this course
Note: This is the only selection that can be made and the USF Employee student must select this confirmation to complete the checkout process to bill to their department.

USF HR Employee Success Initiative Course List

Discounts for the USF HR Employee Success Initiative are applied to the original market price of a course. Discounts are not applied to promotional offerings on courses. There may be instances in which a promotional price is better than the standard USF HR Employee Success Initiative price. If that case arises, the student can register for the course without applying the USF Employee discount.
