Emotional intelligence and resilience are two of the most important “soft skills” needed in the modern workforce. Throughout this course, students will learn how these two skills impact various facets of the workplace, including the all-important HR function. Furthermore, students will have the opportunity to learn how to build emotional intelligence and resilience in themselves, and how to assist colleagues in HR and other departments in their own growth. 

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course, learners will be able to:

  • Define Emotional Intelligence (EI): Understand the core components of emotional intelligence: self-awareness, self-regulation, motivation, empathy, and social skills.
  • Recognize the Role of EI in the Workplace: Identify how emotional intelligence impacts team dynamics, leadership effectiveness, employee engagement, and organizational culture.
  • Develop Personal Emotional Intelligence: Assess and improve one's own EI competencies through reflective exercises and practical strategies:.
  • Apply Resiliency Principles to Workplace Challenges: Learn techniques to build psychological resilience in the face of stress, change, and conflict.
  • Support Others in Building EI and Resilience: Gain tools for coaching and mentoring colleagues to strengthen their emotional intelligence and adaptability.
  • Use EI and Resilience in HR and Leadership Practices: Integrate EI concepts into HR processes such as hiring, performance management, employee relations, and leadership development.
  • Enhance Communication and Conflict Resolution Skills: Apply emotionally intelligent approaches to improve communication, manage difficult conversations, and resolve conflicts constructively.
  • Cultivate a Positive and Productive Work Environment: Utilize emotional intelligence and resiliency strategies to foster well-being, collaboration, and innovation across teams.
