Overview

Our Cybersecurity Essentials course can be taken as a standalone learning experience or used to fulfill the prerequisite requirement for the Information Security (InfoSec) GRC Analyst Training Program (CYB-0003 - Infosec GRC Analyst Training). Participants should plan to spend approximately three weeks completing the course, dedicating 4-5 hours per week to learning and activities.
Cybersecurity Essentials provides a solid introduction to cybersecurity concepts and language, preparing you to engage confidently in the security field.
This essentials course builds practical literacy in information security, modern threats, and how organizations defend data and systems. It’s designed for beginners and career changers, emphasizing hands-on understanding and real-world relevance.
Module 1: InfoSec Foundations and Careers
Explore fundamental security concepts and diverse cybersecurity career opportunities available to professionals at various skill levels.
Module 2: Technology Basics and Cyber Threats
Examine how technology systems function and the methods attackers use to compromise networks, systems, and data.
Module 3: Defending Systems and Information
Master practical techniques for securing devices, networks, and sensitive information against common attack vectors.
